Job Overview

The Senior Medical Imaging Technician role requires a highly skilled professional to provide optimal radiographic imaging and related services within the Angiography Suite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procedure Management: The technician will interpret cardiology and vascular requests, perform advanced specialized procedures in accordance with the Radiation Safety Act and hospital policies, and evaluate and recommend new techniques and procedures in collaboration with senior caregivers and clinicians.
  • Equipment Operation: They will program and operate radiographic and associated fixed and mobile equipment to provide optimal diagnostic and interventional imaging, while ensuring safe operation and maintaining equipment efficiency.
  • Quality Control: The technician will maintain accurate patient data archives, retrieve relevant information in accordance with hospital and departmental policy, and ensure all procedures are carried out in a cost-efficient manner.

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in Medical Imaging (Bachelor of Applied Science - Medical Imaging or equivalent)
  • Eligibility for registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia and licensing with the WA Radiological Council
  • Significant experience with advanced practice skills and ability to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of radiographic principles, procedures, and standards
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritize workload under time constraints
