About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in radiographic imaging and related services, with a strong focus on patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret Cardiology and Vascular requests and perform advanced specialized procedures in accordance with radiation safety regulations and hospital policies.
  • Program and operate radiographic and associated fixed and mobile equipment to provide optimal diagnostic and interventional imaging.
  • Provide accurate diagnostic images while adhering to the ALARA principle.
  • Evaluate and recommend new techniques and procedures in collaboration with senior caregivers and clinicians.
  • Participate in the roster and on-call system to ensure continuous coverage of the department for after-hours emergency procedures.
  • Supervise caregivers and ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety, Radiation Safety, and other relevant legislation.
  • Safely archive and efficiently retrieve patient data in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Operate radiological equipment and perform procedures in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in relation to procedural data.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Medical Imaging (Bachelor of Applied Science – Medical Imaging or equivalent).
  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia and licensing with the WA Radiological Council.
  • Significant experience with advanced practice skills and thorough knowledge of radiographic principles, procedures, and standards.
  • Ability to adapt technique to suit non-routine situations and knowledge of Radiation Safety Legislation and ALARA principles.
  • Proficient in computer information technology, able to prioritize workload and perform under time constraints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with well-developed interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
