This Contracting Officer position is a critical component of the Commercial Division, playing a vital role in ensuring Defence customers have efficient access to low-risk, commercial off-the-shelf products through a Fourth-Party Logistics (4PL) service contract.
The Commodity Management Centre ensures Defence customers have efficient access to low-risk, commercial off-the-shelf products through a Fourth-Party Logistics (4PL) service contract. As a key member of our team, you will engage in complex problem solving and issues management, coordinating and performing detailed or sensitive projects that influence strategic, political or operational outcomes for Defence.
You will be accountable for performing and achieving complex contracting work within an integrated workforce, with knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements. Your responsibilities will include building team capability through mentoring, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work unit.
Your key skills will include demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to deliver actionable recommendations based on complex policy or regulatory information. You will also need to demonstrate problem-solving skills to interpret, recommend and provide advice on complex issues ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and achieve complex contracting work within an integrated workforce

- Provide well-reasoned advice, manage processes and assist with policy and compliance matters
- Liaise with stakeholders in relation to simple and complex issues, identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes
About Our Team
The Commercial Division comprises commercial specialists assisting Defence customers in achieving value for money and effective, defensible outcomes while complying with relevant legal, policy, and legislative requirements. We are currently recruiting for various directorates, each of which plays a vital role in supporting Defence capabilities.
