Classroom Educator

Role Overview

This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team environment, delivering high-quality education programs tailored to the needs of students with intellectual disabilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing evidence of their ability to plan and deliver an appropriate program to students with diverse learning needs.

A key focus area will be demonstrating an ability to actively engage students who have special needs in meaningful learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching & Learning: Develop and implement individualized education plans that cater to the unique needs of students.
  • Teaching Practice: Demonstrate effective strategies for engaging students with sensory needs in inclusive learning environments.

The classroom educator may also be involved in contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum programs within the school. This includes direct teaching of groups and individuals, as well as collaborating with colleagues to enhance student outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Teaching & Learning: Possess a strong understanding of teaching methodologies and strategies suitable for students with intellectual disabilities.
  • Teaching Practice: Have experience working with students who have special needs, including sensory needs.
