This role will be responsible for providing high-quality accounting and financial reporting services to Cubic Transportation Systems (Australia) Pty Limited. The successful candidate will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective management of financial data.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post non-standard journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Perform FICO reconciliations and resolve differences, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Recommend cash transfers and funding as required, exercising sound financial judgment.
- Assist with the preparation of Corporate Income Tax Returns and GST/Fringe Benefit Tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate intercompany transaction processing, confirmation, and settlement, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Act as a key audit contact and support Internal Audit and External Audit requests, providing timely and accurate information.
- Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare account analyses for management and internal/external auditors, providing insightful and actionable information.
- Compile and analyze financial information, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, maintaining a high level of integrity and transparency.
- May be assigned special projects, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting.
- Qualified Accountant (CPA/CA) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 4 years post-qualified experience in commerce/industry.
- Strong knowledge and application of IFRS accounting standards and principles.
- Knowledge of APAC regional income tax, GST, and Fringe Benefits Tax Compliance.
- Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Excel and Office) programs, experience with SAP and Blackline a plus.
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel, management, and external auditors.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Able to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects, and work under deadline stresses.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Successful outcome of a background check.
- Ability to hold a Defence Security Clearance.
