Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary:
An Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the efficient processing of invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payment to vendors. This role requires a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Process invoices in accordance with established guidelines and procedures
- Verify and match invoices with purchase orders and ensure accurate coding and approval
- Schedule and manage pay runs, including verifying and processing employee expense claims
- Update and maintain vendor database, perform reconciliations, and provide supporting documentation for month-end journals
- Manage the accounts payable function, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and ensure seamless operations
- Provide exceptional customer service to vendors and internal stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in accounts payable, preferably in an educational setting
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as SAP or Oracle
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
