About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Engineer to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a DCEO Engineer, you will play a critical role in sustaining the availability, cost management, risk assessment, and mitigation of our data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a 24/7 rotating shift pattern to ensure the smooth operation of our data centers.
  • Undertake and support the management of routine maintenance and emergency services for critical systems such as switch-gear, generators, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment.
  • Installation of new rack capacity and provisioning of power and cooling.
  • On-site management of contractors and vendors.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports and documentation of all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Manage the facility's assets and generate change management requests and incident management tickets for all facility-related events.
  • Drive and implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.

Requirements
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in facilities management, maintaining a data center or other critical space facility.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and web browser-based applications and tooling.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant discipline, or technical degree and relevant experience.
  • Experience in mission-critical facility management for a large enterprise or large colocation provider.
  • Knowledge of IT services such as servers, network, cabling, and platform, and appropriate security and safety awareness.
