Data Center Operations Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Engineer to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a DCEO Engineer, you will play a critical role in sustaining the availability, cost management, risk assessment, and mitigation of our data center infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in a 24/7 rotating shift pattern to ensure the smooth operation of our data centers.
- Undertake and support the management of routine maintenance and emergency services for critical systems such as switch-gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, fire systems, and more.
- Install new rack capacity and provision power and cooling as needed.
- Manage on-site contractors and vendors to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks.
- Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports and documentation on all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
- Generate change management requests and incident management tickets for all facility-related events and assist in the resolution of infrastructure engineering and services issues.
- Drive and implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability, as well as assist in the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new data center facilities.

- 4+ years of relevant work experience in facilities management, maintaining a data center or other critical space facility.
- Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Experience with physical security protocols and a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and web browser-based applications and tooling.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant discipline, or technical degree and relevant experience.
- Mission-critical facility management experience for a large enterprise or large colocation provider.
- Experience in managing vendors/contractors performing construction, maintenance, and upgrading works in large-scale critical environments.
- Knowledge in IT services such as servers, network, cabling, and platform, and appropriate security and safety awareness.
