About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Conflict Resolution Specialist to join our team as a Family Mediator in Wollongong. This is a part-time opportunity working 21 hours per week, based at Uniting's Counselling and Mediation program.

The successful candidate will provide Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) services to families experiencing conflict and unable to reach agreements about children or property. You will work with a dynamic team of FDR Practitioners and therapists to support families holistically.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide FDR services to families post-separation, using innovative practices such as online video appointments, legally-assisted mediation, and child inclusive practice.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to achieve positive outcomes for families.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and community services.
Requirements
  • Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) from the Australian Attorney-General's Department, or eligibility for accreditation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, psychology, or social work.
  • An understanding of child inclusive mediation practice and family law legislation.
  • Knowledge of community services, particularly those relating to families experiencing relationship difficulties.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and writing skills.
  • Computer literacy.
