About the Role

The Senior Research Tenders Coordinator is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and evaluating tender opportunities that align with the university's strategic plans. This role promotes these opportunities to the RMIT University research community, fostering a sustainable research income stream.

The incumbent will support researchers in preparing and submitting competitive and compliant tender responses, ensuring project costing and pricing, and reviewing tender opportunity terms and conditions for legal and commercial compliance.

This role will also manage the existing portfolio of research panels that RMIT University is a member of, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to strategically position RMIT's research capability.

The Senior Research Tenders Coordinator will work closely with the Research Proposals team to provide end-to-end support for research tender development.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Significant experience in evaluating tender opportunities and supporting the development of successful tender responses.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to exercise discretionary judgment in assessing opportunities and risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team to deliver excellent customer service within a complex, multi-tiered organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including proven ability to maintain accuracy and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to proofread and edit funding proposals.
  • Experience in costing and pricing projects and budget development.
  • Experience working with a variety of computer applications, including Microsoft Office software and document management systems.
  • Demonstrated history of behavior aligned to the RMIT values and professional/leadership frameworks.

Appointment Requirements

Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
