We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Services Employee to join our team at Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT. As a Support Services Employee, you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our residents in a residential care setting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing general assistance with domestic duties to ensure a clean and safe environment for residents
  • Assisting with laundry and housekeeping tasks, including cleaning picture frames, wall ornaments, and sanitizing towel dispensers and light switches
  • Preparing clothing, garments, and linen for washing and drying, and performing those duties using safe handling of laundry chemicals
  • Making beds, changing linen, and turning mattresses as necessary
  • Wet dusting picture frames and wall ornaments, and wet wiping and sanitizing towel dispensers, light switches, and air-conditioning switches
  • Cleaning exhaust hoods in the kitchen

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A current NSW Driver License
  • Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a residential care setting
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Basic computer skills
  • Understanding of workplace safety
  • Experience as a Maintenance Person in Aged Care or similar industry is desirable
  • Able to provide evidence of COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations
