About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Service Employee to join our team at Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, empowering them to live a full and meaningful life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional and social support to residents, assisting with daily life activities and promoting their independence.
  • Support residents with self-care, including grooming, bathing, and dressing, while maintaining their dignity and comfort.
  • Report any changes or concerns to the Registered Nurse on duty, ensuring seamless care coordination.
  • Assist with mobility, using mechanical lifting aids and ensuring residents' comfort and safety.
  • Participate in mealtimes and social activities, fostering a sense of community and connection among residents.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in aged care, with a genuine enthusiasm for working with older adults.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • A Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support, or 2nd year nursing students with completed placement experience.
