About this Role

We are seeking an experienced tradesperson to join our team as a Carpentry Trainer and Assessor. This role is ideal for a qualified carpenter looking to share their skills and experience with the next generation of tradespeople.

This position involves delivering and assessing training in classroom, workshop, and/or on-site environments. You will be responsible for facilitating both theory and practical sessions for carpentry students, conducting workplace assessments, and providing Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality training and assessment in accordance with national training packages
  • Facilitate both theory and practical sessions for carpentry students
  • Conduct workplace assessments and provide RPL where applicable
  • Support and mentor learners to achieve their qualifications
  • Maintain compliance with RTO, ASQA, and WHS standards
  • Accurately record student progress and outcomes

About you

  • You are a well-presented, self-motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • You have previous experience in education/training-based roles and/or experience in the relevant industry
  • You have excellent presentation skills, including a positive and professional work manner
  • You can prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work accurately under conflicting time pressures
  • You have knowledge of the industry Training Package

Qualifications & Experience

  • Rlevant trade qualification in Carpentry
  • TAE40122 or TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience in residential and/or commercial carpentry
  • Current White Card
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
