About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Counselling and Welfare Services Manager to provide strategic leadership in the development and delivery of high-quality clinical counselling and welfare assistance to support student wellbeing and success.

This role is pivotal in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students within the Institute. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing the implementation of student wellbeing strategies and programs through a team of qualified counsellors and welfare officers, including the design, development and implementation of new policies and innovative ways of adapting existing strategies to effectively promote and manage the mental health support of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the implementation of student wellbeing strategies and programs through a team of qualified counsellors and welfare officers, including the design, development and implementation of new policies and innovative ways of adapting existing strategies to effectively promote and manage the mental health support of students.
  • Drive cultural change by developing positive relationships and networks within and external to the Institute.
  • Provide authoritative mental health information, advice and direction to stakeholders such as Deans, Heads of Department and Education Managers across all areas of Holmesglen.
  • Structure the operations of the counselling and welfare teams to support the achievement of Institute objectives and report as required on the outcomes of agreed targets.
  • Through the counselling and welfare teams, manage the development and delivery of psychosocial, emotional intelligence, mental health literacy, team building and resilience programs to students.
