Key Role in ECC Veterinary Department

We are seeking an experienced veterinarian to take on a predominantly clinical role with some managerial responsibilities. This position involves overseeing and ensuring clinical excellence of the ECC department.

About the Position

This is a key opportunity for an ECC Clinical Director to play a vital part in the growth and development of the hospital. As an ECC Clinical Director, you will work closely with the business manager and other department heads to develop strategies for growth and success.

  • Working as an ECC Veterinarian across a variety of shifts – days, evenings, overnights and weekends, with a roster defined in collaboration with the Business Manager with your work-life balance in mind.
  • Establishing best practice processes for the department.
  • Communicating the vision of the hospital and key department updates to your team to promote a positive work environment.
  • Ensuring the department meets financial targets to sustain growth.
  • Working with the business manager and other department heads to develop growth strategies.
  • Supporting your team by providing feedback and conducting performance reviews to identify current successes and areas for future professional growth.
  • Assisting with recruitment activities by building on your current team and identifying complimentary skills.
  • Becoming a first aid officer with the appropriate training, as deemed by management.
Requirements

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • A veterinary degree eligible for registration in New South Wales.
  • Minimum of 5+ years working in a 24/7 Emergency and Speciality Care hospital.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead teams.
  • Strategic thinking to refine and grow the service.
  • Management training (formal or informal through CPD) would be advantageous.
  • Commitment to being a team player, good communicator and contributing to a positive workplace environment.
  • Dedication to delivering compassionate and high-quality veterinary care.
