About the RoleThe Technical Advisory Services team is seeking a Senior Power System Analysis Engineer to lead a group of specialists in power system modelling. This role is essential for ensuring the effective integration of Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) infrastructure and maintaining a reliable energy supply for consumers through advanced modelling techniques. In addition to overseeing technical functions, you will manage the technical expertise related to power systems modelling and contribute to the team's strategic growth and development. This senior role presents a unique opportunity to influence the future of renewable energy integration and make a significant impact on the sustainable energy sector.
Candidate ProfileIdeal candidates will demonstrate expertise in power system planning and analysis, utilizing tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, and PSCAD. Experience in leading the technical integration of REZ infrastructure, including the design of cost-effective network solutions and system strength infrastructure, is essential. Proficiency in collaborative planning for shared transmission infrastructure, along with power system modelling and analysis, is critical for optimizing REZ components. Candidates should also exhibit the capability to conduct technical due diligence, enhance power system assessments through tool development, and guide the team in formulating design specifications for new assets. Collaboration with network planning teams and industry professionals is a vital aspect of this role.

Reporting to the Director of Power Systems, the role involves overseeing a team of up to two engineers. Candidates with experience in technical advisory roles, a solid understanding of policy and commercial factors, and knowledge of renewable energy integration will find this position both challenging and rewarding.
A valid driver's license and the right to work in Australia are essential for this role.
Essential QualificationsA degree in electrical engineering or equivalent relevant experience is required.
