Business Development Manager Role Overview

This position entails overseeing a portfolio of clients, providing tax planning and structuring advice, and collaborating with technical support team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of C and D class clients, assisting them with their tax and business advisory needs.
  • Hold client meetings to deliver tax strategies, software guidance, and business mentoring.
  • Provide tailored tax planning and structuring advice.
  • Apply strong technical knowledge to prepare and review individual and business tax returns, financial statements, Fringe Benefits Tax returns, CGT calculations, Division 7A compliance, and SGC obligations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor of Accounting or equivalent degree.
  • At least 3 years of industry experience in accounting/taxation, with at least 1 year in a client-facing account management role.
  • A strong technical foundation in taxation and accounting, with the ability to translate complex rules into practical outcomes for clients.
  • Understanding of key areas such as non-commercial loss rules, CGT small business concessions, depreciation rules, trust minutes, franking accounts, taxable payments annual reports, and tax minimisation strategies.
