Community Outreach Counselor

We are seeking a dedicated individual to work with our team in delivering services to the Aboriginal women, men and children who enter our hub intake system. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with Orange Door staff and leadership to provide support and access to the wider service system.
This role presents a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team and contribute to making a positive impact in the lives of our clients. If you have a passion for working with Aboriginal communities and families, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities- To work collaboratively with Orange Door staff and leadership to deliver services to Aboriginal women, men and children entering our hub intake system.
- To develop and maintain strong relationships with our clients, providing them with tailored support and guidance as needed.
- To identify and address any barriers or challenges that may be preventing our clients from accessing the support they need.
- To contribute to the development and implementation of programs and initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for Aboriginal communities and families.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will also need to be highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively, with a focus on achieving high-quality outcomes.
In addition to your technical skills and qualifications, you will need to demonstrate a commitment to cultural safety and a willingness to learn about and engage with Aboriginal cultures and practices.
Requirements- Tertiary qualification in social work, social sciences or related field or relevant working experience.
- Full Victorian Driver's Licence, current Working With Children Check, and clear National Police Check.
- Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster as applicable).
- Knowledge of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and The MARAM Framework (Tier 1-Comprehensive).
- A supportive environment with comprehensive induction.
