As a key member of our legal and compliance team, you will be responsible for providing expert legal and regulatory advice to ensure compliance with Australian gambling laws. Your role will involve developing and implementing compliance strategies, overseeing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) compliance, and ensuring adherence to privacy laws.
Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance: Provide expert legal and regulatory advice to ensure compliance with Australian gambling laws, including the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, state-based wagering regulations, and AML/CTF Act.
- Compliance Strategies: Develop and implement compliance strategies to adhere to regulatory requirements, including safer gambling, AML/CTF, and consumer protection standards.
- AML/CTF Compliance: Oversee AML/CTF compliance, including customer due diligence (CDD), know-your-customer (KYC) processes, and suspicious matter reporting to AUSTRAC.
- Privacy Laws: Ensure adherence to the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), including data handling, retention, and breach response processes.
- Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and submit regulatory reports, notifications, and licence applications to ACMA, state regulators, and AUSTRAC as required.
- Experience in the gambling, sports betting, or highly regulated industries.
- In-depth understanding of Australian gambling regulations, AML/CTF compliance, and privacy laws.
- Proven ability to manage high-stakes regulatory projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex regulations and provide practical solutions.
- High ethical standards and commitment to fostering a culture of compliance.

- The role is currently open to all locations within Australia, however candidates based in Melbourne or Brisbane may be preferred.
