The Rural Fire Service is responsible for providing fleet, equipment and built assets that meet the agency’s demands both operationally and strategically.

About this role
  • This position involves developing strategic plans, infrastructure planning, transactions and/or lease management to deliver timely RFS fleet maintenance and allocation requirements.
  • As a key member of the team, you will assist in implementing policies and strategies for RFS Fleet and Equipment or Facilities Asset management.

You will be responsible for coordinating and planning state-based facilities or construction, or fleet and equipment replacement, acquisitions and logistics in accordance with investment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement asset management strategies for RFS Fleet and Equipment or Facilities.
  2. Ensure organisational databases and records management systems are managed and updated as required.

You will also be responsible for initiating, undertaking and evaluating either Facility Assets or Fleet Assets and equipment for RFS in accordance with the annual strategic and investment plans.

This role requires excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders from rural and near-rural communities.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
