We are seeking an experienced Strategic Rail Planning Team Lead to join our team in Brisbane, Australia. As a key member of our rail planning team, you will be responsible for leading strategic rail planning projects, mostly for the Queensland market.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Strategic Rail Planning Projects: Develop and implement strategic rail planning projects, including rail operations, engineering advisory, and rail network planning and strategy development.
- Lead Integrated Project Teams: Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, including technical rail operations and planning, engineering advisory, transport demand modeling, and broader transport planning and economics.
- Engage with Clients and Stakeholders: Engage regularly with clients and stakeholders to identify and shape opportunities related to strategic rail planning, and develop action plans to win work.
- Lead Bids for Clients: Lead bids for public and private clients, mostly in Queensland.
- Guide Team Performance: Guide the performance of the team to meet client outcomes, deliver tangible benefits, and maintain profitability.
- Interface with Teams: Interface closely with our Queensland advisory, planning, and mobility teams to identify wider collaboration opportunities to support our rail and transport clients.
- Mentor and Develop Staff: Support and mentor staff to undertake development activities, helping them realize their potential.
- Lead Safety Culture: Lead and foster a good safety culture to ensure the safety and well-being of all staff.
- Contribute to National Strategy: Contribute to reaching the targets of WSP's national Strategic Rail Planning Strategy, from a Queensland perspective.
- Support Commercial and Operational Performance: Support commercial and operational performance metrics.
We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled individual with a passion for managing and delivering rail projects. You will have a strong background in rail planning, with a minimum of 10 years' relevant post-graduate experience. You will also have a Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent, and a Master's Degree is preferred.
You will have broad experience in leading rail planning projects, especially at the strategic level, and deep knowledge and experience in business case development process in Australia, especially in Queensland. You will also have well-connected networks with rail professionals in Queensland, especially with decision-makers from governmental organizations.
