About the Role
As a Farm Engagement Specialist, you will work closely with dairy farmers and regional networks to promote engagement with our Research, Development, and Extension programs. This includes encouraging participation in events and fostering opportunities to discuss emerging issues across regional areas.
You will support the planning, evaluation, and reporting of our programs and resources, utilizing your knowledge of animal health and performance, agronomy, feedbase, and pasture management. This expertise will benefit the delivery of programs such as Rearing Healthy Calves, Milking for Mastitis Management, Fertility Matters, Feeding Pastures for Profit, Advanced Nutrition in Action, Nutrition Fundamentals, etc.
This role will enhance your relationship and stakeholder management skills, facilitation, delivery, and communication skills. You will be open to exploring issues impacting farmers and identifying available solutions. You will consider ways to make a positive impact on farm and appreciate the results of our work.
Ideal candidates are degree qualified in agriculture, environment, or equivalent, or have extensive knowledge of the Australian dairy industry. Demonstrated experience working with farmers and groups of farmers, including delivering information and programs, is highly valued. Strong communication skills are essential.
You will also understand how technology can enhance extension and utilize our CRM to promote events and capture data guiding and supporting our programs and innovation.
