Job Details

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Officer to join our team on a 6-month contract. As a Payroll Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our regional and central workforce.

Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly pays accurately and on time, adhering to relevant awards and agreements.
  • Manage all aspects of payroll transactions, including leave, overtime, new starters, and terminations.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate payroll records, ensuring confidentiality of employee information.
  • Provide professional and efficient support to stakeholders, responding to inquiries and providing guidance on payroll-related matters.
  • Collaborate with senior team leaders and people managers, offering advice and support on employment relations processes.
  • Prepare and distribute reports as required, ensuring compliance with financial and taxation requirements.
  • Support the General Manager Finance with payroll-related tasks and projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a payroll officer, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • The ability to pick up new systems and procedures quickly.
  • Understanding of awards and award interpretation.
  • Knowledge of Micropay beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work harmoniously as part of a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to problem-solve and multitask.
  • Positive attitude towards change and continuous improvement.
