We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team at Team Global Express. As a key member of our site leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety, performance, and team leadership for designated operational areas and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure customer focus is present in all activities undertaken by the team, considering the impact on customer service delivery in decision-making.
- Lead the team by setting and maintaining work standards and behaviours, holding team members to account.
- Display a Continuous Improvement approach to define more efficient and effective ways of working, increasing productivity and ensuring safety.
- Manage workflow in area of responsibility, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are followed and meet timeframes, productivity levels, and other KPIs as set by Operational Management.
- Make sound and timely decisions regarding day-to-day operational matters within areas of responsibility and supervision, as per delegated authority.
- Coordinate, direct, and deploy resources (labour, equipment) to ensure operational, productivity, commercial, and customer requirements are met.
- Effectively manage labour costs, ensuring that labour is managed within budget requirements and productivity is optimised.
- Review and implement proposed work practices to ensure work can be carried out safely and in compliance with all Company, legislative, and regulatory requirements.
- Engage with team members on performance, conduct, and productivity issues, absenteeism, leave requirements, and associated matters.
- Provide regular constructive feedback to direct team, including undertaking regular safety conversations and applying effective recognition practices.
- Participate in toolbox sessions, leading discussion where required.
- Be the first point of contact for customer concerns and queries, escalating as required.
- Apply sound conflict resolution, coaching, training, and presentation skills.
- Apply a proactive and preventative approach to HSE issues affecting the site and/or the work area.
- Accountable for compliance for self and team with all relevant legislative and regulatory obligations.
- Implement all Team Global Express Group, Divisional, and BU-specific HSE requirements (Policies, Standards, Guidelines, and associated processes and procedures).
- Ensure all team members are fully and properly inducted and are competent to undertake all tasks assigned to them in an appropriate and safe manner.
- Provide necessary supervision to ensure that work practices are aligned with the relevant Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions.
- Ensure all team members operating plant and equipment, and those undertaking specific and regulated tasks, are appropriately trained, supervised, and licensed.
- Identify hazards and risks, ensuring these are properly assessed and controlled.
