Job Title: Security Operations Specialist This is a new role created to support the strategic enhancement of security capabilities and is an exciting opportunity for a security professional to shape and build protective security culture.The Security Operations Specialist sits within the People and Culture Division and will work closely with all agencies across the portfolio.In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for ensuring the security governance, processes, and operations for the portfolio.The position will assist in providing expert security advice and solutions to address current and emerging security risks and opportunities.The role supports all aspects of security operations, risk management, and governance while helping to build effective stakeholder relations and foster a strong security awareness culture.A great opportunity to join a team of security professionals in building a portfolio-wide capability.Key Responsibilities:
  • Effective and customer-centric security operations, security risk management, and advice to all stakeholders.
  • Organisational security governance, policy, and procedures.
  • Organisational security plans and training and awareness material.
  • Participate in and contribute to a range of emergency, incident, and safety planning activities.
  • National security clearance holder management.
Requirements:
  • Well-developed communication, organisation, and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate routine technical information clearly.
  • Solid skills in procedure writing, incident reporting, and intelligence analysis.
  • Skills and experience in working in a dynamic team environment.
  • Experience and understanding of protective security, incident management, intelligence, or a related field.
  • Experience in supporting security risk and threat assessments and a thorough understanding of risk assessment standards and methodology.
  • An understanding of the Australian Standard for Protective Security and the Australian Government's Protective Security Policy Framework.
  • A current National Security Clearance (Negative Vetting 1) or the ability to obtain one.
