About the Role
Drive strategic growth and expansion for a priority industry group by leading the development and execution of an industry-wide plan. Collaborate closely with senior partners, lawyers, and other stakeholders to set priorities, drive collaboration, and unlock profitable growth opportunities.
- Develop and execute industry strategic plans in alignment with firm strategy, ensuring seamless collaboration with key partners and the broader team to achieve business objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the Industry Lead Partner, Industry Leadership Team, and CMG team members to connect people across the business, demonstrate leadership, and drive results by bringing teams together to deliver industry priorities.
- As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), possess in-depth knowledge of the industry, including market trends, key players, competitors, and client relationships, applying this expertise to inform strategic decisions and develop compelling value propositions.
- Provide strategic business development advice and coaching to partners and lawyers, empowering them to drive growth and expansion in their respective areas.
- Lead pitches and collaborate with Client Market Growth Business Unit colleagues to apply industry insights to bids, leveraging expertise to secure new business opportunities.
- Foster strong client relationships, maintain client intelligence, and uphold service excellence through proactive communication and tailored solutions.
- Identify and pursue cross-business unit opportunities, clients, and geographies, supporting the formation of integrated teams to drive growth and strengthen pipelines.
- Develop high-quality client-facing materials and precedents with compelling value propositions, working closely with the Centre of Excellence and Major Proposals team to ensure alignment and quality.
- Collaborate with the brand/marketing team to design and deliver client and market engagement strategies, prioritizing industry objectives and measuring outcomes to demonstrate return on investment.
- Establish and nurture internal and external networks, demonstrating leadership qualities and setting standards for best business development practices.
- Apply a commercial lens to industry and client development, understanding profitability levers and reporting financial performance to enhance decision-making.
