Overview of the RoleThe Regulatory Operations Group is responsible for achieving safer and healthier workplaces within its jurisdiction. As a Workplace Health and Safety Inspector, you will play a vital role in promoting continuous improvements in work health, safety, and rehabilitation practices and monitoring and compliance with the law.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct workplace inspections and investigations to identify and address work health and safety risks
- Provide guidance and support to employers to help them understand their work health and safety responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders, including workers, employers, and industry associations, to promote a cooperative and consultative approach to work health and safety
- Develop and implement prevention programs and campaigns to promote work health and safety
- Participate in dispute resolution and present findings to stakeholders
- Diploma of Government (Workplace Inspection) or equivalent qualification
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance
- Character clearance (police records check)
- Health assessment
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with stakeholders
