Program Coordinator - Restorative Justice

Job Description

As a Program Coordinator - Restorative Justice, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating restorative justice processes with young people who have committed offenses, victims, and other relevant parties. This will include referrals, identifying and coordinating participants, and convening the restorative justice process.

The role requires strong organizational skills to manage complexities and conflicts that may occur or arise within all stages of the restorative justice process. You will also assist in monitoring suitability, feasibility of, and compliance with restorative justice conference agreements.

Additionally, you will identify appropriate support services for victims of offenses, make referrals if required, and liaise with service providers and counselors who may be representing or supporting the victim to participate in the restorative justice process.

You will ensure written and oral information and advice to courts, agencies, and other stakeholders is in accordance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy, and procedural requirements. External referrals to support services will also be made.

This role involves working collaboratively as part of a team to achieve positive outcomes for victims, young people who have committed offenses, their families, and the community. This includes mentoring and assisting trainee coordinators in their professional development.
