Job Opportunity

Support clinicians in delivering culturally safe and appropriate healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with kidney disease.

The role involves working across the North West Hospital and Health Service's Renal Service under the guidance of a Clinical Nurse and Registered Nurse.

  • Primarily based in Doomadgee, the role requires travel to various facilities or units within the Northwest Hospital and Health Service.

This is an opportunity for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person to contribute to improving health outcomes for their community.

A valid C Class Motor Vehicle Licence is required.

About the Role

As a member of the Renal multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with clinicians to provide culturally safe and appropriate healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with kidney disease.

The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Requirements
  • It is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
  • A valid C Class Motor Vehicle Licence is required.
  • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
  • Working with Children check may be required prior to appointment.
  • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • A period of probation may apply.
