About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Steel Fabrication Project Manager to join our team in Australia. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for the safe management, performance, and successful end-to-end delivery of steel fabrication construction projects on time and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will provide technical expertise and guidance to the greater team on all aspects of structural steel.
  • End-to-end management of structural steel process from engagement, drawing development, fabrication, testing, and shipping.
  • Ensure implementation and monitoring of quality management systems and plans throughout the project.
  • Review structural designs to ensure completeness and collaborate with structural engineers on technical matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with Universal Beam (UB), Universal Column (UC), Built-up Plate steel construction, and Australian standards.
  • Oversee proper testing of major weld points during fabrication and ensure appropriate welding types are used.
  • Possess knowledge of third-party testing requirements and various steel grade members.
  • Understand blasting and paint requirements, including Class 1 and 2 Painting.
  • Document necessary certificates and warranties.
  • Collaborate with project teams and provide input to project planning and outcomes.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A valid driver's license and current passport, as this role requires local and international travel.
  • Experience in structural steel and a solid understanding of relevant codes and regulations.
  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree with at least 5+ years' experience in similar roles within the construction industry.
  • Experience in establishing construction systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulatory compliance and statutory regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills and proficiency in CAD and Tekla software.
  • Flexibility with working hours and willingness to travel.
  • A Construction White Card.
