Employment Development Specialist

This role involves collaborating with participants to explore their career goals, build confidence, and support them into meaningful employment. You will work closely with clients to understand their strengths and aspirations, provide tailored coaching, link them to opportunities, and collaborate with employers to open doors.

From delivering training and promoting inclusive hiring practices to keeping accurate records and driving engagement through proactive networking, this is a role where relationship-building skills and a passion for making a difference have real impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and create career opportunities that match clients to suitable and sustainable roles.
  • Champion inclusive employment and workforce diversity, focusing on people with disability, injury or health conditions.
  • Engage and work alongside employers to address skill shortages through role carving and inclusive recruitment.
  • Broker work experience to build participant skills and assess employer/client compatibility.
  • Prepare workplaces to support and retain participants via adjustments and disability confidence training.
  • Facilitate employer training to boost disability awareness and inclusion.
  • Build employer and community networks to create job opportunities.
  • Promote services as a trusted provider supporting people with disability to achieve career goals.
  • Meet or exceed internal and external performance benchmarks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualifications in Employment or Human Services are desirable.
  • Proven ability to meet KPIs and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong understanding of employment barriers faced by people with disability, injury, or health conditions.
  • Skilled in providing tailored support and developing client-focused employment plans.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Current Driver's License is essential.
