Join Our Team as an Environmental Monitoring Officer

The Central Coast Council is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Monitoring Officer to join our team. This exciting opportunity will see you play a key role in managing the Council's environmental monitoring programs, ensuring the protection and preservation of our natural resources.

About the Role
  • This temporary term contract (up to 12 months) offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the conservation of our environment.
  • As the Environmental Monitoring Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating water audits, undertaking recreational water quality monitoring and reporting, and working closely with stakeholders to achieve quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate highly technical water audits to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Undertake recreational water quality monitoring and reporting to inform decision-making and protect public health.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to develop and implement effective environmental management strategies.
Requirements
  • A degree qualification in Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, or a related field, or demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role together with ongoing professional development.
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Extensive experience in Coastal, Estuarine, or Catchment Management with specific focus on recreational and ecological water quality investigations.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary range of $85,850.60 to $103,028.64 (dependent on skills and experience), plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • A temporary term contract (up to 12 months) offering flexibility and work-life balance.
