Job Title: Regulatory Approvals Specialist

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing strategic support to ensure the delivery of regulatory approvals for mine development and expansion projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) to deliver approvals outcomes aligned with the organisation's strategic goals and values.
  • Navigate the process of gaining permission and establishing agreements for entering and utilising private land, including a detailed understanding of Indigenous engagement.
  • Facilitate and represent internal and external consultation processes related to project development, land access, and heritage management.
  • Implement and improve systems as required, to identify and control environmental and compliance risks ranging from project to enterprise levels.
Essential Qualifications and Competencies

The following qualifications and competencies are considered essential for this position:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Biological/Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management (NRM) or similar.
  • Greater than 10 years of experience in a similar role, including end-to-end approvals and/or site environmental management within the mining or resources sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, and Excel; and Project management software proficiency (e.g. MS Project, P6 Primavera).

Demonstrated experience and a strong understanding of relevant legislation including Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC), Environmental Protection Act 1986 (EP), and Mining Act 1978 (MA) are highly desirable.
