Special Education Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our team as a Head Teacher Special Education.

  • The successful candidate will lead and manage the Hearing Support Unit, responsible for approximately 14 staff members.
  • This unit provides support to students who are Deaf or hard of hearing with additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality, inclusive learning programs to meet the complex needs of students who are Deaf or hard of hearing.
  2. Develop and implement strategies for individualised support, transition, behaviour, and wellbeing of students with additional learning needs.
  3. Manage a dynamic faculty of teaching and non-teaching staff to promote a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration.

  • Approximately 760 students attend our school, with 42% from English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) backgrounds and 53 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
