Category 5 Labour Management is a leading Engineering client specialising in heavy industry, infrastructure and Electrical Engineering projects throughout Australia. We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager for ongoing projects in Gladstone, Queensland.

The Role - Electrical Project Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing workgroups and projects associated with the delivery of electrical control and systems design for various clients across many industries.

  • Leading and mentoring Project Engineers and Graduate Engineers with project work, designs and technical issues.
  • Reviewing work completed by engineers to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Supporting the development of the Engineering team with specialist skills to service business industry clients with a specific focus on electrical system engineering.
  • Staying up-to-date with International Standards, Australian Standards and legislative requirements.
  • Managing and reporting on projects including budgetary and time frame management.
  • Contributing to business development and direction by introducing new markets and innovations.
  • Developing reports, specifications and technical papers as required by the company and its clients.
  • Continual development and improvement of the company's systems.
  • Maintaining contracts with clients.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing electrical engineering projects for clients with successful outcomes.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical designs and software packages.
  • A strong level of knowledge and commitment to safety and customer service.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills are required.
  • A well-organised, pragmatic individual able to handle a diverse and complex workload.
  • Demonstrable advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • A friendly and approachable person with a good sense of humour.
  • Flexible, consistent with a desire to lead and learn.
  • The ability to use initiative and make decisions.
  • The ability to perform small to medium projects from concept stages through to post-commissioning support.
  • An advanced understanding and knowledge of PCS and power systems.
  • The Electrical Project Manager shall be a member of or have the appropriate qualifications to allow for membership to the Institute of Engineers Australia.
