Strategic Risk Analyst

This role involves playing a key part in shaping the company’s growth strategy and driving underwriting excellence.
Main Responsibilities:
- Act as a senior technical expert to assess risks and make informed decisions that align with strategic goals.
- Expand the Property account in line with overall business appetites, controls, underwriting strategy, and guidelines.
- B build strong relationships with major customers and brokers through excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Underwrite and price Property risks, including catastrophe, risk, and compliance exposures.
- Prepare quotations and formal proposals on new and renewal business.
- Evaluate documentation to ensure accuracy and completion according to EGM or Company standards.
Essential Skills:
- Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to deal with all levels of personnel and clients.
- Full understanding of the Insurance Industry and Client/Broker/Insurer relationships.
- Proven analytical skills to judge complex risks within assigned specialised line.
- Leadership and organisational skills through past management experience.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated skill in PC software, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Microsoft Outlook.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of previous Insurance experience - preferably in Property and Commercial lines.
- Relevant on-the-job experience.
Qualifications:
- Working towards or obtained ANZIIF qualifications.
- Tertiary qualification (Business or Statistics) desirable.
