**Job Opportunity in Construction Materials Testing**

This permanent, full-time role is an excellent chance for someone enthusiastic about conducting compliance testing of construction materials to join our team. With no experience or degree required, we welcome applicants eager to learn and grow with us.

The role involves working Monday to Friday, with a rotating weekend roster and some Saturdays at overtime rates. Please note that this position requires physical movement and lifting.

You will receive full training on the following rotations:

  • Sample Preparation: Preparing samples for testing through techniques like riffling, drying, crushing, grinding, and weighing, and registering all testing samples in our Laboratory Data Management System.
  • Mortar Testing: Casting prisms, testing strength, shrinkage, and sulfate resistance characteristics, as well as temperature rise, setting time, and soundness determinations of cement, fly ash, slag, and lime materials.
  • Concrete Making and Testing: Making concrete to Australian standards to investigate and test strength, shrinkage, setting times, bleed, air content, and mass per unit volume.
  • Chemical Laboratory: Testing materials for varied chemical characteristics.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Deliver accurate testing results in a timely manner, meeting customer expectations.
  • Develop effective working relationships within a close team environment.
  • Adhere to procedures and work systems in a systematic, methodical, and safe manner.

**Requirements for Success:**

  • No experience or degree necessary, but previous laboratory experience is highly regarded.
  • Pass a medical examination including a drug and alcohol test.
  • National Police check.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and the environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and within a small team.
  • Strong literacy and computer skills.
