Underwriting Service Leadership Role

Longitude is seeking an experienced and skilled Underwriting Supervisor to lead our underwriting service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective servicing of broker partners, developing and training team members, and identifying areas for improvement.

The Underwriting Supervisor will work closely with internal stakeholders to achieve business goals and objectives, critically review reports to ensure the underwriting service team is meeting required targets, and anticipate problems by performing quality assurance of risks and treatments.

This is a senior-level role that requires a high level of people management and support experience, as well as expertise and technical knowledge in strata or property/ISR/business package insurance either in underwriting or broking. Strong consultation, influencing, and negotiation skills are also essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the underwriting service team to deliver world-class service to customers
  • Develop and train team members to improve their skills and knowledge
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the underwriting service
  • Critically review reports to ensure the underwriting service team is meeting required targets
  • Anticipate problems by performing quality assurance of risks and treatments

Requirements:

  • Senior-level leadership and management experience
  • Expertise and technical knowledge in strata or property/ISR/business package insurance either in underwriting or broking
  • Strong consultation, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to critically review reports and identify areas for improvement
