Job Role: Academic Support Specialist
About the Position:
The Academic Support Specialist provides personalized support to students with disabilities, medical or mental health conditions. This role aims to empower students to achieve academic success by offering learning assistance, note-taking, and liaison services with staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic support to students in classes and tutorials
- Liaise with staff to enhance service delivery
- Assist students with online learning platforms and content access
- Break down complex tasks and explain new concepts to students
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse clients
- High level of written communication skills (typing, spelling, grammar)
- Current Working with Children's Check and Police Check Required
- Personal laptop or tablet for note-taking in classes
