We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join us as an Academic Support Specialist.

As an academic support specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting students who aspire to enter Victoria's most prestigious schools.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of aspiring students. You will work alongside experienced primary tutors to provide personalized attention and guidance to students preparing for selective school entry exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weekly Group Classes: Support engaging 2-hour classes for small groups of 6-12 students across Years 6-8, specializing in one subject: Mathematics (Reasoning / Quantitative subtests).
  • Writing: Mark student submissions and provide prompt, targeted feedback.
  • 1-on-1 Tutoring Sessions: Provide personalized tutoring sessions to help students with specific questions, clarify challenging concepts, and reinforce topics they're struggling with to accelerate their understanding.
  • Text-Based Student Support: Respond to student queries promptly via our messaging platform, providing guidance on exam preparation, study strategies, and academic concerns.
  • Training & Team Collaboration: Complete initial training, participate in occasional team meetings, and assist with basic resource review as needed to maintain program quality.

Requirements

Achievement Excellence: Attended a Victorian selective school (Melbourne High, Mac.Robertson Girls', Nossal High, or Suzanne Cory High), except John Monash Science School.

92+ ATAR with 40+ raw scores in VCE Maths (Methods/Specialist/Further) and English (English/Literature/English Language) highly preferred.

Experience with competitive examinations (Select Entry, Scholarship exams, GAMSAT, SAT, etc.) strongly favoured.

Academic awards or scholarships (desirable).

Personal Requirements
  • Ability to commit for the full academic year (no long absences).
  • Sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement to protect our resources.
  • Agree to a non-compete clause (no group tutoring outside our organization).
  • Able to travel to campus locations.
  • Genuine desire to help students reach their potential.
