Contract position available for a Senior Accountant to collaborate with our Investment Management Finance team at our Sydney Head Office.
This is a full-time 6-month contract opportunity, providing a unique chance to develop your skills and experience in financial accounting and management.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Accounting and Reporting of Assets: Ensure accurate and timely financial results for the Investment Management portfolio.
- Assist in Preparation of Financial Reports: Contribute to the preparation of monthly, half-year, and year-end financial reports, including accruals, journal entries, management reports, cashflows, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Provide Financial Analysis and Commentary: Prepare profit and loss statements, variance analysis, and provide insightful commentary on financial performance.
- Meet Regulatory Requirements: Prepare and submit monthly, half-year, and full-year regulatory requirements to relevant teams, such as Tax and Statutory Reporting (BAS, STI).
- Support Forecasting and Process Improvement: Assist in forecasting processes and identify opportunities for process improvement, enhancing organisational effectiveness.
- Audit Support: Collaborate with the audit team during the year-end audit process.
- Candidate Requirements:
- CA/CPA/CIMA accreditation advantageous
- Minimum 1 year experience in management and financial accounting in a similar role (Essential)
- Experience in managing varied stakeholder relationships (Essential)
- Desirable qualifications and experience include property experience and technical expertise in SAP, Anaplan or similar systems
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting standards and principles
- Well-developed communication skills - can express ideas, both in writing and verbally
- Ability to build constructive working relationships characterised by high acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect
- Problem-solving skills, with ability to make decisions through properly understanding issues and referring to relevant data
