The Workday HCM Functional Architect is a pivotal role that serves as the go-to implementation leader, providing expert guidance and delivery for functional area engagements. This individual assumes the position of the billable functional leader on Workday implementations.

This person is a senior Workday product expert who collaborates closely with engagement managers, managers, functional area leads, and senior client resources. They provide overarching strategic guidance and leadership on engagements to ensure a robust and complete solution that meets clients' needs and allows for future enhancements with minimal rework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide functional leadership on multiple concurrent Workday implementations across all functional areas.
  • Oversee functional area architect workshops and client confirmation sessions, ensuring efficient and accurate design and configuration of the delivered solution.
  • Act as a sounding board and provide ad-hoc advice for EMs and leads and serve as an advocate and escalation point for the EM and functional team, ensuring issues are being addressed.
  • Help teams understand and adhere to our Cynergy methodology to deliver Workday implementations and provide feedback to appropriate parties internally to support continuous enhancement of our tools and processes.
  • Mentor junior project resources by providing guidance, enabling them to learn new skills and functional areas, lead client sessions, and configure the solution.

Duties & Tasks:

  • Attend regular Workday KSS calls for product areas.
  • Partner with Engagement Managers (EMs) and Portfolio Directors (PDs) to drive team and individual performance, achieving high client satisfaction levels, and provide feedback to managers to facilitate practice growth and development for project team members.
  • Ensure that issues and risks are discussed openly with the appropriate parties.
  • Conduct internal QA processes.
  • Support the sales team by assisting Solution Architects with estimating projects, participating in Sales Orals meetings for proposed assignments, and assisting with or reviewing estimates for Change Orders in functional areas.

Education And Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Current Workday Certification and certified in at least two subspecialties in addition to their area, with the ability to lead in each of these areas.
  • Completed minimum 3-5 full lifecycle Workday Implementations for both large-scale Your Way implementations and regional Launch implementations.
