About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Menswear Designer to join our team at Myer. As a key member of our product development team, you will play a pivotal role in executing the Myer Exclusive Brands product strategy, specifically Casual Menswear.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new product lines for Casual Menswear, including Reserve and Blaq brands
  • Work closely with the buying team to source new fabrics and trims, and to develop new styles and product ranges
  • Collaborate with the product development team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of design packs and specifications
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of market trends, customer segmentation, and competitive landscape
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on design direction, color stories, and print research
  • Work with the team to evolve and develop the MEB brand DNAs, and to push the brands handwriting forward
Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience in a design or product development role, preferably in the fashion industry
  • Tertiary education in design or equivalent industry experience related to the design role
  • Experience within Menswear is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to interpret international trends for the Australian market, and to communicate these effectively
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and garment finishing
  • Strong knowledge of fabric finishes, treatments, washes, weights, and fabric properties
  • High proficiency using Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Applications
  • Retail, financial and business acumen
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, working closely with the product development and buying teams
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
