About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Claims Advisor to join our dynamic team in Brisbane. As a Claims Advisor, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of claims from lodgement to resolution, assessing claims for reasonable and appropriate treatment and rehabilitation needs, and investigating claims and interpreting medical documents with a focus on proactive claims management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of claims from lodgement to resolution
  • Assess claims for reasonable and appropriate treatment and rehabilitation needs
  • Investigate claims and interpret medical documents with a focus on proactive claims management
  • Ensure legislative compliance timeframes are met in conjunction with following all internal policies and procedures
  • Provide an excellent level of customer service to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Calculate settlement offers, negotiate settlements, and attend settlement conferences with lawyers and Counsel

Requirements

  • Be customer-focused with previous experience and ability to thrive within a high-paced, high-volume environment
  • Be resilient in nature
  • Have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including managing emotionally charged situations
  • Have strong time management, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Be confident to make decisions and be empowered
  • Have a keen willingness to learn with a proactive and positive attitude
  • Have good computer skills and the ability to upskill to learn new computer systems and programs
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the personal injury or insurance industry is desirable
