Network Engineer Role

About the Job

This position involves installing and maintaining network and optical equipment to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery. The individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day fibre patching and responding to alarms and alerts using monitoring tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and Maintain Network Equipment: Ensure network and optical equipment are installed, configured, and maintained to provide reliable and efficient service delivery.
  • Fibre Patching Management: Manage day-to-day fibre patching activities, including fault identification, isolation, and rectification.
  • Monitoring and Alert Response: Respond to alarms and alerts using monitoring tools to ensure prompt resolution of issues affecting service delivery.
  • Expert Connectivity Advice: Provide expert connectivity advice and support to internal and external stakeholders, including fault finding assistance.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure network equipment is functioning optimally.
  • Network Topology Management: Manage and update network topology, asset records, and configuration data for all networking equipment.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, vendors, and service providers to ensure seamless collaboration and issue resolution.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Australian Citizenship: Hold Australian citizenship or have the ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
  • Fibre Cabling Experience: Have experience with fibre cabling and network infrastructure maintenance, supporting a range of technologies.
  • Documentation and Compliance Skills: Possess strong documentation and compliance skills, with familiarity in ITIL frameworks.
  • Networking and Communications Skills: Ability to configure and troubleshoot networking and communications equipment.
