The role of the Database Developer involves designing, implementing, and maintaining databases for applications. This includes creating efficient database structures, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing database performance.

A successful candidate will have a strong background in SQL database development, including proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL and PostgreSQL. They will also be experienced in performance tuning and query optimization, as well as having a good understanding of database design, indexing, and normalization.

Additionally, the candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Proficiency in .NET technologies is also highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  1. Design, Implement, and Maintain Databases: Create efficient database structures, implement database solutions, and maintain existing databases to ensure optimal performance.
  2. Optimize Database Performance: Use techniques such as query tuning and indexing to optimize database performance and improve data retrieval times.
  3. Ensure Data Integrity: Develop and implement measures to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all databases.
  4. Collaborate with Software Developers: Work closely with software developers to integrate database solutions with application features and ensure seamless functionality.
  5. Develop and Maintain Database Documentation: Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all databases, including schemas, procedures, and data dictionaries.
  6. Monitor Database Performance: Continuously monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Database Developer working on large complex enterprise systems.
  • Skills: Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), strong understanding of database design, indexing, and normalization, experience with performance tuning and query optimization, knowledge of data security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
