ESG Project Manager Job Opportunity

The ESG project manager will play a key role in providing independent assurance of greenhouse gas and environmental, social, and governance information to multinational clients across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, execute, and deliver climate, sustainability, and ESG assurance engagements globally, in accordance with relevant assurance standards and methodologies.
  • Manage planning and project budgets, update internal budget tracking tools, forecasts, and invoice multiple complex projects.
  • Lead presenter in all client interactions within a project, including in-person or online kick-off meetings, project status meetings, site visits, and management report closeouts.
  • Contribute to the team's success by building and maintaining strong client relationships, anticipating and understanding clients' needs, and developing proposals.
  • Recruit, mentor, and support the development of project team members as well as direct reports.
Requirements:
  • A degree-level education in a sustainability, engineering, business, or audit-related field.
  • 5-6 years of professional experience in a professional services industry.
  • Expertise in project management, managing multiple clients simultaneously, and ensuring delivery of deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of assurance standards, assurance assertions, and audit procedures.
  • Broad working knowledge of all sustainability/ESG topics, including greenhouse gas emissions, waste, biodiversity, health and safety, diversity, equity, and inclusion, supply chain, governance, etc.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and GHG reporting frameworks used as reporting frameworks, such as the GHG Protocol, Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) S1 and S2, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), etc.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Australian regulatory reporting obligations, such as the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme (NGERs), Clean Energy Regulatory Safeguard Mechanism, and ASIC Climate Guidance.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of sustainable finance services, such as second-party opinions (SPOs), sustainability-linked loans (SLLs), with context around sustainability finance frameworks, such as the Green Loan Principles, Green Bond Principles, and Climate Bond Standard.
  • An appreciation of the importance of maintaining and developing client relationships.
  • Proven ability in data and spreadsheet analysis using Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrable writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness and ability to learn quickly and contribute enthusiastically to our growing business.
  • Be a team player with a high degree of self-motivation.
  • Willingness for international travel for visits to client head offices and operational sites.
