High-Performance Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced High-Performance Infrastructure Specialist to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust observability solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to enhance the reliability, scalability, and performance of our critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Observability Solution Design: Design, build, and maintain comprehensive observability solutions on GCP to ensure seamless service delivery and optimal system performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to set Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and error budgets that align with business objectives.
- Monitoring, Logging, and Tracing: Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing strategies to proactively detect and resolve issues, leveraging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
- Automation and Continuous Improvement: Build automation and continuous improvement solutions for infrastructure reliability, focusing on scalability and high-performance systems.
- Software Engineering Solutions: Develop software engineering solutions for scalable, high-performance systems, utilizing your coding skills and expertise in languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis and post-mortems to drive service improvements and optimize system performance.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will have a strong software engineering background, hands-on experience with GCP, including Stackdriver, BigQuery, and Pub/Sub, and expertise in observability practices and tooling. Your ability to work in a collaborative team environment, communicate effectively, and influence the organization's observability practices will also be essential.
