Job Title: Senior Embedded Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at L3 Harris Space and Airborne Systems Australia. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing embedded software applications for our advanced electronic warfare components and subsystems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and develop embedded software applications for multiple software systems
  • Take ownership of software development schedule and reporting to project/customer stakeholders
  • Develop modular, readable, and robust code for defence systems adhering to security and functional requirements in C++ 17
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, systems engineering, agile development, review, testing, integration, and verification
  • Mentor less experienced software engineers and help them develop good software development and debugging skills
  • Write and maintain both internal and deliverable documentation, either directly or through supervision of contractors
  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing as required
  • Participate in demo activities for the purpose of sharing knowledge
Requirements:
  • Degree in Software, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Extensive experience in similar role
  • Experience architecting complex software for embedded systems, adhering to requirements, with a structured verification approach
  • Experience in developing software for microcontrollers in C++ bare metal or with RTOS, working with interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, etc.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team, adhering to development processes
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
