About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at L3 Harris Space and Airborne Systems Australia. As a key member of our ICI Division, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing complex embedded software applications for our advanced electronic warfare components and subsystems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop modular, readable, and robust code for defence systems adhering to security and functional requirements in C++ 17.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, systems engineering, agile development, review, testing, integration, and verification.
  • Collaborate effectively with both software and other engineering disciplines as well as management, to ensure comprehensive coverage of requirements as efficiently as possible.
  • Mentor less experienced software engineers and help them develop good software development and debugging skills.
  • Write and maintain both internal and deliverable documentation, either directly or through supervision of contractors.
  • Provide Engineering support to manufacturing as required.
  • Participate in demo activities for the purpose of sharing knowledge.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset.
Requirements
  • Degree in Software, Electronics or Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Extensive experience in similar role.
  • Experience architecting complex software for embedded systems, adhering to requirements, with a structured verification approach.
  • Experience in developing software for microcontrollers in C++ bare metal or with RTOS, working with interfaces such as I2 C, SPI, UART, CAN etc.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team, adhering to development processes.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
